” “I’m big into the skin prep,” Gucci Westman emphasized backstage at Rag & Bone this evening as she explained the foundation for the supernatural makeup she was creating for the brand’s polished spring 2015 show. That’s been a popular refrain this week in New York City—where lit-from-within complexions have been the near universal beauty story on the runways so far.

In Westman’s case, coaxing complexions into shape called for mini facials using Dr. Jart+ Water Fuse replenishment mask, followed by its Ceramidin Liquid or Cream, and NARS Optimal Brightening Concentrate—and that was before she started in on the “just-bitten” lips and glossy lids that gave the deliberately fresh-faced model corps a desired air of pure innocence.

Elsewhere, emollient creams, hydrating illuminator’s, and highlighting blushes were in heavy rotation—adding an appealing gleam to temples, cheekbones, and eyes. Francelle Daly achieved the “intimate, just woke up in a sun-filled loft” idea at 3.1 Phillip Lim this morning by layering shimmering shades of NARS peach and pink pigments on temples, cheekbones, and eyelids, while Charlotte Tilbury buffed MAC Studio Moisture Cream mixed with concealer into complexions and onto limbs at Donna Karan. To properly execute Thakoon Panichguls “girls just out of the water” directive, makeup artist Diane Kendal went as far as dabbing NARS Lip Gloss in Triple X on top of models’ lids and combing it through their brows. It may be the one product you truly need come spring.”  ~Celia Ellenberg for Vogue
